Waitohi Domain Camping Area offers backcountry camping within a scenic reserve near Pleasant Point in South Canterbury. The site sits amongst native bush featuring species including mahoe, lemonwood, kowhai and the rare native climbing daisy, surrounded by pine plantation. Walking tracks wind through the reserve, which supports notable native birdlife for the district. Facilities include toilets, picnic tables and on-site water. Access is via gravel road, which can become rough and muddy during wet weather. The camping area is unavailable from mid-April to early spring for forestry operations. Stays of up to 14 nights are permitted, with no fees charged.
