Terms of Use

EscapeTo helps you find campgrounds and campsites, plan trips, and read and write reviews. It is free to use. We are an information service. We don’t run campgrounds and we are not a travel agent.

Our listings come from public land agencies, OpenStreetMap contributors, campground operators and other travellers. Things change fast and some of it will be out of date or wrong.

• Before you travel, check with the operator or land manager: whether it is open, fees, booking rules, access roads, and closures.
• Check current fire bans, fire danger and weather warnings with the local authorities.
• Do not treat a "free" label, a facility list or a map pin as a guarantee.
• You are responsible for your own safety and judgement, including whether a site and road suit your vehicle.

You can browse without an account. To save trips, write reviews or upload photos you sign in (with Apple in the app; the website also offers other providers). Keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete it at any time (see our Privacy Policy).

You own what you post. By posting it, you give Jola Pty Ltd a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, show, copy, resize and adapt it to run and promote EscapeTo. You can delete your content. The licence ends when it is removed, apart from copies already in routine backups.

When you post, you promise that:

• you took the photo or wrote the review, or have the right to share it;
• it reflects your own honest experience;
• it doesn’t break the law or anyone’s rights, including privacy and copyright;
• photos of people are shared with their permission.

We may edit for format, decline or remove content that breaks these terms.

Please don’t:

• post anything unlawful, false, defamatory, hateful or infringing;
• post fake reviews, or reviews of your own business or a competitor;
• harass other people, including campground staff;
• scrape, bulk-download or resell our data without written permission;
• misuse the AI assistant, or try to break, overload or get around the security of the service;
• pretend to be someone else.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

The assistant can be wrong. Treat its answers as a starting point and check anything that matters, the same as any other listing information.

Booking buttons and links take you to the campground, park agency or booking site. Any booking, payment, cancellation or refund is between you and them, under their terms. We are not part of that contract and can’t act for them. Prices and availability shown in EscapeTo are a guide only.

EscapeTo’s design, software, branding and our compilation of listings belong to Jola Pty Ltd or our licensors. Map and place data from OpenStreetMap is © OpenStreetMap contributors and available under the Open Database Licence. You may use EscapeTo for your own trip planning. Other uses need our permission.

EscapeTo is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that it will be accurate, complete or always available, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by relying on listing information, conditions at a campsite, or a third party’s booking.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other consumer laws that can’t be excluded. Where our liability can be limited but not excluded, it is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of doing so.

We may change or stop parts of EscapeTo. We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top and flag bigger changes in the app or on the website. If you keep using EscapeTo after that, the new terms apply.

These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria can hear disputes about them. If you are a consumer in another country, you keep any protections the law there gives you.
