Mavora Lake DoC camping comprises two standard camping areas within Mavora Lakes Conservation Park in Southland — one beside South Mavora Lake and another between the two lakes. The park features dramatic mountain scenery, native beech forest and tussock grassland, and forms part of Te Wāhipounamu World Heritage Area. Visitors can walk, tramp, mountain bike, fish for trout or explore the surrounding wilderness. North Mavora Lake served as a filming location for The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Wheelchair-accessible toilets are provided, and the site accommodates campervans, caravans and tents.
