Overview

Tullahasse Loop is located upstream of Chouteau Lock and Dam 17 on the McClellan-Kerr Navigation System approximately 9 miles Southwest of Wagoner, OK. Visitors can enjoy camping, picnicking, fishing, boating, kayaking or simply enjoying the scenic beauty the area has to offer.

The Chouteau Lock and Dam 17 project was primarily constructed for the improvement of the Arkansas River and its tributaries for commercial barge traffic; however, it also offers recreation and resource opportunities.Β Β Β Β 

Facilities

This year-around campground offers 15 primitive campsites, perfect for those who enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. Amenities are available thorughout the year and include a vault toilet, access to potable water, playground, boat ramp and courtesy dock.Β 

Natural Features

Tullahasse Loop is located off the main river channel on an oxbow and provides excellent access to the backwaters for fishermen, boaters, and kayaks. The campground is surrounded by mixed hardwood forest and the majority of the campsites are shaded.Β Β 

Nearby Attractions

Located just south of the city of Wagoner and North of the city of Muskogee, Afton Landing is within driving distance to several local dining and shopping facilities. It is also within a 10-minute drive to Fort Gibson Lake and several other campgrounds and state parks.

Recreation The Chouteau Lock and Dam 17 project was primarily constructed for the improvement of the Arkansas River and its tributaries for commercial barge traffic; however, it also offers recreation and resource opportunities. Facilities This year-around campground has two camping loops offering 19 campsites with electric, 3 non-electric campsites and a popular group day use shelter. Amenities are available throughout the year and include vault toilets, drinking water, dump station, playground, boat ramp and courtesy dock. Natural Features Afton Landing is located off the main river channel on an oxbow and provides excellent access to the backwaters for fishermen, boaters, and kayaks. The campground is surrounded by mixed hardwood forest and the majority of the campsites are shaded. The sloping high banks offer great water views and access to tie boats at the water's edge. Overview Wahoo Bay is a campground that provides an abundance of shade for rest and relaxation. Located just North of the Fort Gibson Dam, users can easily access the main body of the lake for a variety of water activities. As an added bonus, there are several stores and marinas nearby for supplies and equipment rentals. Boat and RV storage locations are within a few miles of the campground. Recreation The nearly 20,000-acre lake offers excellent boating and swimming opportunities. Anglers enjoy fishing for black bass, white bass, crappie and several varieties of catfish and panfish. The lake's 225 miles of shoreline are home to thousands of acres of public hunting lands, where white-tailed deer, bobwhite quail, mourning dove, duck, geese, cottontail rabbit and squirrel roam. Wahoo Bay offers a variety of recreation activities including camping, boating and swimming. People can enjoy the quietness of the lake tucked away in the cove with amazing scenery. Wahoo Bay has 2 boat ramps in the park as well as a courtesy dock at the main boat ramp. Facilities Wahoo Bay is equipped with 20 campsites within the park. There are severel water hookups throughout the park where campers can fill up water tanks. There is also a vault toilet located by the boat ramp parking lot.

Overview Taylor Ferry South is a heavily wooded campground that provides an abundance of shade for rest and relaxation. Conveniently located off Highway 51, users can easily access the main body of the lake for a variety of water activities. As an added bonus, there are several stores and marinas nearby for supplies and equipment rentals. Boat and RV storage locations are within a mile of the campground. Recreation The nearly 20,000-acre lake offers excellent boating and swimming opportunities. Anglers enjoy fishing for black bass, white bass, crappie and several varieties of catfish and panfish. The lake's 225 miles of shoreline are home to thousands of acres of public hunting lands, where white-tailed deer, bobwhite quail, mourning dove, duck, geese, cottontail rabbit and squirrel roam. Facilities This year-round campground offers 95 sites, 89 of which have electric hookups. Amenities include flush and pit toilets, drinking water, showers, a dump station and boat ramp. Natural Features The area around Taylor Ferry South is primarly an oak-hickory forest; however, the entrance road is lines with pines. Most of the rocky shoreline within the campground has a gradual slope to the water's edge for easy access. A man made sandy swim beach with playground equipment is located across the highway from the campground. Nearby Attractions Historic Fort Gibson, established in 1824, served as an important military post on the western frontier for close to 70 years. Now a National Historical Landmark, the site is open to the public year round. Volunteers reenact the lifestyle of the late 1800s during various events held throughout the year. A reconstructed log stockade, and original barracks, hospital, bakehouse and other structures still stand today.
