Te Mona Gorge site 2 is a free campsite managed by Timaru District Council, located along the Hae Hae Te Moana River approximately 15 kilometres west of Geraldine in Canterbury. This site is one of three campsites spread over a two-kilometre stretch through Te Moana Gorge, an area known for native forest, river fishing opportunities (licence required), and the rare long-tailed bat visible at dusk. Open fires are prohibited with only gas cookers permitted. Access is via Te Moana Road. No bookings are required, operating on a first-come, first-served basis.
