Overview Leech Lake Recreation Area is located in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest in Federal Dam, Minnesota on the Leech Lake River. The area is best known for its fishing and boat access to Portage Bay on Leech Lake, a famous perch, walleye and musky fishery. Recreation Boating, canoeing and fishing are very popular activities. Anglers will find walleye, perch, bass, northern pike and musky, where every cast has the potential to yield a trophy. Miles of scenic hiking trails meander around Leech Lake, including the Soo Line, Heartland and North Country National Scenic Trails. Facilities This campground offers 73 wooded sites with electric hookups, including eight sites with full hookups. Additionally, there are four primitive walk-to tent sites. A group day-use picnic shelter with electric is available, as well as two mini-picnic shelters. Amenities include flush toilets, showers, drinking water, laundry facilities, a dump station, boat ramps and overnight boat mooring. Campers enjoy the park's basketball, volleyball, badminton and shuffleboard courts, as well as the horseshoe pits. Younger campers love the playground areas. Natural Features Leech Lake has 316 miles of shoreline and encompasses 14 natural lakes. A mixed forest of elm, ash, maple, basswood, birch, aspen and pine covers the area. Wildlife is abundant around the lake, where campers commonly hear the tell-tale call of loons out on the water. Charges & Cancellations Customers may cancel their reservation prior to arrival both on-line and through the call center. A $10 service fee will be withheld from any refund for a cancellation. A customer who cancels a reservation the day before or on the day of arrival will pay a $10.00 service fee AND forfeit the first night's use fee (not to exceed the total paid for the original reservation). Cancellations for a one-night reservation will forfeit the entire amount paid and will not be subject to an additional service fee. If a customer wants to switch dates that are entirely outside of the original reservation dates, there is a $10 change fee.

Overview USACE Winnie Dam Campground & Recreation Area. This is a Corps of Engineers Campground, located just walking distance from the Mississippi River. Activities include camping, fishing, boating, picnicking, kayaking, and playground areas. All sites offer 30/50 AMP electric with water, restrooms & showers nearby. Recreation Lake Winnie offers excellent fishing opportunities for walleye, perch and musky. It is one of Minnesota's premier fisheries. Boating on this 67,000-acre lake is also very popular. A boat ramp to access the Mississippi River can be found near the picnic shelter. The closest boat access to Lake Winnie is located 1 mile northeast of the park down Plug Hat Road. Facilities The campground, pronounced "win-uh-big-osh-ish," offers 22 sites with electric hookups. Amenities include showers, flush toilets, pit toilets, drinking water, a dump station, boat ramp, picnic shelter and playground. Natural Features A forest of mixed hardwoods and towering red pines covers the area, housing an abundance of wildlife including nesting bald eagles, porcupines, black bears, chipmunks and many others. Wild blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries grow seasonally on the forest floor.

Tamarack Point campground is 13 miles north of Deer River on Highway 46. Turn west off 46 onto County Road 9. Travel south on County 9 for six miles before turning west onto Forest Road 2163. Overview Winnie Campground is remotely located on the west side of Lake Winnibigoshish in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest. Visitors come to the area to enjoy boating, trophy muskie fishing and beautiful scenery. Recreation Lake Winnie offers excellent fishing opportunities for walleye, perch and muskie. It is one of Minnesota's premier fisheries. Boating on this 67,000-acre lake is also very popular. A boat ramp and harbor are located next to the campground. Many hiking and biking trails meander around the lake and its 141 miles of shoreline. A picnic area is adjacent to the campground. Hunting areas can be found in the surrounding forest. Facilities The campground offers 33 reservable sites, some of which are very large and suitable for groups. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring. Vault toilets, hand-pumped drinking water and recycling services are provided. Natural Features The campground is situated on the western shore of the lake in a scenic forest of mature red and white pine. Some sites have lake views. Nearby Attractions The town of Cass Lake, Minnesota is 25 miles west of the campground, offering restaurants, a bank, grocery and hardware stores, a movie theater and museum.

Overview Williams Narrows Campground is located on Cut Foot Sioux Lake in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest. Visitors come to the area for boating, trophy muskie fishing and beautiful scenery. The Chippewa National Forest and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe work together to co-steward resources - making the Forest a great place to recreate as well as a special place where cultural and traditional resources are protected and preserved and the Band’s treaty rights are respected. Recreation Boating, swimming, and fishing are popular activities on Cut Foot Sioux Lake. A boat ramp and swimming beach are located between the campground's two loops. Miles of trails in the area provide great hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and birding opportunities. The Simpson Creek Trail and Cut Foot Sioux National Recreation Area Trail can be accessed by boating across the narrows. Cut Foot Sioux Lake is located next to Lake Winnibigoshish. Lake Winnie offers excellent fishing opportunities for walleye, perch, and muskie. It is one of Minnesota's premier fisheries. Boating and water skiing are popular activities there as well. Facilities The campground offers several single-unit campsites, each equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring. Vault toilets and hand pumps for drinking water are provided in each loop. Natural Features The campground is situated on the eastern shore of Cut Foot Sioux Lake. A scenic forest of birch, oak and pine trees shades the campground. A few campsites have lake views. The lake is home to a variety of waterfowl and birds of prey, including loons, osprey and bald eagles.
