Te Moana Gorge Camp is part of a trio of free campsites managed by Timaru District Council, located along a 2-kilometre stretch of the Hae Hae Te Moana River approximately 15 kilometres west of Geraldine in Canterbury. The sites sit within remnant podocarp forest, home to rimu, kahikatea, mataī, miro and tōtara, with a lush understory of native ferns and shrubs. The river offers fishing opportunities, and the gorge supports populations of the rare long-tailed bat (pekapeka), often visible at dusk.
