Sailors Cutting Campsite sits beside Lake Benmore on State Highway 83, managed by Waitaki District Council. The camping ground offers tent sites beneath mature trees providing natural shelter. Facilities include a boat ramp, small harbour, flush toilets and an on-site dump station, with a safe swimming area nearby. Registration is paid on arrival via an honesty box or camp warden. The camping season runs from the third Saturday in September through to the first Sunday in May. Open fires are not permitted and dogs may be allowed by request. Popular with long-term campers, the site is conveniently located just off the main road.
