Repeater Campground lies in Hūnua Ranges Regional Park, accessible only by foot via an easy one to two hour walk from Wairoa Dam car park, off the Challenge Mountain Bike Track. This backcountry tent site accommodates up to twenty people for a maximum stay of seven nights. Facilities include a shelter with a roof, sides, dirt floor and wooden bunks, a long-drop toilet, and tank water collected from the roof that must be boiled before drinking. The grass-surfaced campground is managed by Auckland Council and offers a simple base for exploring the ranges. Bookings and current fees can be confirmed through Auckland Council.
