Gore Bay Buxton Campground sits at the northern end of Gore Bay, just over the Buxton Stream bridge, surrounded by pohutukawa trees with direct beach frontage. The site offers ten large powered sites and eight non-powered sites, suitable for families and groups with ample space for children's activities. Facilities include toilets, free four-minute hot showers, and a basic kitchen building with sink, kettle, toaster and picnic table. The adjacent Buxton Playground reserve features swings, slides and table tennis. Powered sites for two people are $40 per night, non-powered $35, with additional charges for extra adults and children. Check-in is from noon, with check-out at 10:30am.
