Deer Valley Campsite sits within the Lewis Pass Scenic Reserve in Canterbury, operated by the Department of Conservation. This small site occupies grassy flats beside the Lewis River surrounded by beech forest. Facilities include tent sites, caravan spaces and non-flush toilets. The campsite provides access to the St James Walkway and lies approximately 10 kilometres from Maruia Springs. The access road has tight turning space at its end, so larger vehicles should check clearance or ensure they can reverse out safely. Payment is made via DOC Campsite Pass or cash at the self-registration stand.
