Dalton Lake Campground sits next to the 2.8 acre Dalton Lake and offers nearby access to fishing, hiking, biking, horseback riding and a variety of motorized recreation opportunities. Explore the dozens of miles of nearby trails or simply relax and enjoy the lake and nearby Little Elk Creek. The campground offers 11 sites and a picnic area nestled into the Ponderosa Pines of the Northern Black Hills. Whether you are looking to take some time to relax or looking for an adventure, the seclusion of Dalton Lake Campground offers an ideal experience for almost any explorer.
Recreation
Dalton Lake Campground provides extensive opportunities for access to outdoor recreation. Try fishing from the several piers surrounding Dalton lake, explore a portion of the 111 mile Centennial trail that runs adjacent to the campground or hop on your dirt bike, ATV or side by side to adventure through the dozens of nearby OHV trails.

Natural Features
Dalton Lake Campground sits at just under 4,400 feet elevation and is surrounded by tall peaks and beautiful Ponderosa Pine forest. Little Elk Creek feeds into Dalton lake and continues it’s meandering journey through large boulders and winding canyons east toward Piedmont, South Dakota. The lake is stocked with Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout, managed by South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks.

Overview Boxelder Forks Campground is host to 13 campsites, tucked into the Ponderosa Pines along Boxelder Creek near the town of Nemo, South Dakota. The campground offers easy access to both motorized and non-motorized recreation. The Centennial Trail is just 1 mile east of the campground and serves as a beautful host for hiking, biking, horseback riding and motorized recreation. Dozens of miles of OHV trails are in close proximity to the campground. Meanwhile, fishing access is just steps away from the campground. ROUBAIX LAKE
Overview Roubaix Campground is tucked into a grove of Ponderosa pines along its namesake lake. With a popular swim beach and opportunities for non motorized boating and paddling, campsites are dispersed among four loops, and many offer lake views. At an elevation of 5,500 feet, this camp remains comfortable on hot summer days, and sites are spaced far enough apart to offer ample privacy. This popular camp makes a great base for exploring all the activities and attractions at the lake and in the surrounding area. Recreation Robaix Lake is ideal for swimming, canoeing, kayaking and fishing for brook and rainbow trout. Horseback riders, mountain bikers and off-road vehicle riders have access to a 1-mile multi-use trail that leads to a network of other trails. Facilities Roubaix Lake camp offers a variety of sites. Each one contains a gravel spur, picnic table and fire ring. Drinking water and accessible vault toilets are provided. Natural Features The Black Hills in western South Dakota and northeastern Wyoming feature a varied landscape of rugged rock formations, canyons and gulches, open grassland parks, tumbling streams and deep blue lakes.
