The Terang Day Rest Area is a well-designed and maintained public recreation space in the heart of the town. It features a BBQ rotunda, picnic tables, restrooms, and a picturesque walking track around the old lake. For family fun, there's a children's play area and a nearby takeaway food shop. The rest area also has an information centre and ample parking for all vehicle sizes, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing break.

The under cover BBQ rotunda enjoys views over what was once a lake, but which has been transformed into a public recreation area. A 4.5km walking track encircles the old lake, with several rest stops along the way. There is a children's play facility and across the road is a takeaway food shop. The centre section of the road includes a self-service information centre and there is a car park here as well. There is ample parrallel parking on either side of the road with plenty of room for any size rig. This is a well thought out rest area which is also well looked after.
