Puhi Puhi Campsite is a Department of Conservation backcountry site in Puhi Puhi Scenic Reserve, Marlborough, located 9 kilometres north of Kaikōura off State Highway 1. This grassy, flat camping area beside a stream provides a simple base for tenters, with long-drop toilets and water from the stream (treat before drinking). A short 700-metre bush walk through native forest runs from the site, offering a scenic leg-stretch. The reserve is reached via Puhi Puhi Road, 6 kilometres inland from the highway. This no-frills spot suits self-sufficient campers seeking a quiet stopover in a rural setting, though it can fill during busy periods.
