Pinders Pond is a recreation reserve in the Teviot Valley near Roxburgh, managed by Central Otago District Council. The site occupies an old hydraulic elevation pond from the region's gold mining past, surrounded by mature trees and distinctive landforms. Visitors can enjoy picnicking and swimming in a safe environment, with overnight stays permitted for campervans and tents. The reserve offers flat areas for setting up camp, including some more private spots, though facilities are minimal. Open fires are not allowed. Pets are welcome at this free camping area, which provides a practical base for exploring the wider Teviot Valley and Clutha River margins.
