Mapua Leisure Park is a holiday park situated on 25 acres of native and exotic woodland approximately 30 kilometres from Nelson in the Tasman region. The park occupies a promontory where the Waimea Estuary meets Tasman Bay, providing waterfront access and a private beach. Facilities include a swimming pool, sauna, barbecue areas, dump station and powered sites. The park welcomes pets by arrangement from February to mid-December and maintains a tranquil atmosphere suited to families and regular visitors. It serves as a convenient base for exploring Abel Tasman and Kahurangi National Parks. A clothing-optional period operates during February and March.
