Free Self Contained Camping in the Nelson region accommodates certified self-contained caravans. This free site requires vehicles to hold a current self-containment certificate, ensuring minimal environmental impact and compliance with freedom camping regulations. Facilities are limited to what self-contained units provide, so campers must be fully equipped with their own toilet, wastewater storage, and water supply. The site offers an economical option for responsible travellers exploring the top of the South Island. Contact the managing authority to confirm current availability, access conditions, and any seasonal restrictions before planning your visit.
