Canaan Downs Campsite sits within Canaan Downs Scenic Reserve in the Nelson/Tasman region, accessed via an 11-kilometre gravel road from Tākaka Hill Road. Mountain bike tracks traverse the area, and the campsite requires advance online booking through the Department of Conservation's Campsite Pass system. The steep, winding access road is unsuitable for large campervans.
