Brazeau Lake is a backcountry campground in Jasper National Park, Alberta, situated near a large wilderness lake surrounded by mountain passes and alpine meadows. This remote site serves as a key destination on the popular multi-day Brazeau Loop backpacking route. The campground offers 12 campsites accessible via backcountry trails, though recent infrastructure damage has affected certain approach routes. Parks Canada manages backcountry camping reservations and requires wilderness passes for overnight stays. Trail conditions and bridge closures can impact access, so checking current trail status before departure is essential for planning your wilderness experience in this expansive Rocky Mountain landscape.
