Manganuku Campsite, managed by the Department of Conservation, sits beside the Waioeka River in Waioweka Gorge Scenic Reserve near Ōpōtiki. This easily accessed site off State Highway 2 offers tent and caravan sites surrounded by native bush, with basic facilities including non-flush toilets, a BBQ area and stream water. The campsite features one of the few remaining historic Howe truss bridges, providing both heritage interest and river access for swimming and fishing. With space for around 20 sites, it serves as a practical base for exploring the gorge.
