Maharanui Campsite is a backcountry Department of Conservation site within Whanganui National Park, accessible only by boat along the Whanganui Journey. This remote riverside camp allows a maximum two-night stay for canoe and kayak travellers paddling the Great Walk, set amongst native forest where you might spot kererū, tui and fantails by day or hear brown kiwi at night.
