Greenstone Saddle Campsite is a backcountry site managed by the Department of Conservation, positioned on the track between Lake Howden outlet and the Greenstone and Caples tracks within the Greenstone and Caples Conservation Areas. Formerly known as Howden Campsite, this free camping area offers basic facilities including tent sites and toilets. The location sits at an altitude of approximately 695 metres, roughly 20 minutes south from the former Howden Hut and 40 minutes north of the Caples–Greenstone junction, making it a convenient stopping point for trampers traversing these valleys in the Otago region.
