Cobb River Campsite is a free Department of Conservation site located in Kahurangi National Park in the Nelson/Tasman region. Positioned beside the Cobb River at the top end of Cobb Reservoir, the campsite offers basic facilities including non-flush toilets. The river provides opportunities for swimming and fishing during summer months. Access is via Cobb Dam Road off State Highway 60 at Upper Takaka, following 35 kilometres of unsealed, steep and winding road with some one-way sections that require four-wheel-drive in winter. The exposed site is known for sandflies, so repellent is essential. Campers should be aware of fire bans during summer and contact the local Department of Conservation office for current restrictions.
